Location

Situated in the historic town of Ironbridge, in the heart of rural Shropshire, The Coracle (ref 27520), nestled around an attractive courtyard, enjoys all that Ironbridge has to offer. Many museums that are spread along the banks of the River Severn trace Ironbridge’s history. The iron bridge itself is a reminder to its importance. Visitors can browse around the array of craft and souvenir shops as well as great bars and restaurants. Visit Bridgnorth, an historic town split in two but connected via a unique Victorian cliff railway. Madeley, 1 mile, boasts listed buildings galore, the grandest being Madeley Court. Newport offers a plethora of independent shops and eateries, whilst Telford has an indoor shopping area with over 150 shops and cafés. Wellington, hosting one of the oldest markets, is also worth a visit, and Wrekin Hill is a comfortable walk away. Kayaking, canoeing, cycling, walking, gliding, golf, fishing and horse racing are all available, whilst places to visit include castles, abbeys, working farms and museums, discovery centres, gardens, parks and historic houses. This cottage is small but quite sufficient for a long weekend away for the two of us. It was great to leave the car in the free space provided as everywhere we wanted to visit was within walking distance for us.
